- 영어: Electro Thermal Printer
- 특수 한약재를 바른 감열 용지에 열을 가하여 특정 부분을 검게 변색시켜 인쇄하는 방식
- 1965년 미국 발명가, 전기공학자 잭 세인트 클레어 킬비(Jack St. Clair Kilby, 1923 ~ )가 집적회로와 함께 반도체 기반으로 한 감열 프린터를 개발했다고 한다.
- 매우 저렴하고 매우 빠른 인쇄가 가능하지만 그럼에도 불구하고 결과 사본은 생산된 작업에 이상적인 매우 낮은 해상도의 인쇄 작업이며 감열 용지가 고가이고 인쇄물이 검게 변색
- 도트가 쓰이지만 가끔씩 대형 시중은행에서 대기표나 팩시밀리 용지로 사용된다.
