- 물의 출처는 화산 빙하 에이야퍄들라요쿨(Eyjafjallajökull)에서 유래한 셀랴란드 강(Seljalands River)이며 그 일부에 불과
- 2010년 에이야퍄들라요쿨(Eyjafjallajökull) 화산 폭발로 형성된 화산암 계열인 유리질 화산 집계체인 히알로클라스타이트(hyaloclastite)이다.
- 폭포 뒤로 걸어가면 작은 동굴이 있다.
- 2017년 5월, 폭포 근처에 높이 8m, 2,000m² 규모의 정보 센터를 건설하려는 계획이 있었으나 유야무야(有耶無耶)된 것으로 알려져 있다.
- 입장료는 없으나 주차료는 부과되고 고성방가, 음주가무, 담배 피우는 행위는 처벌 대상이니 하지 말자
